Planned Parenthood Doctor Asserts That Abortion is Painful!
Dr. Lynn Borgatta and David Nickinovich, Ph.D. published an article in The Journal of Reproductive Medicine (1997 volume 42, pp. 287-293). Dr. Lynn Borgatta is in the Medical Division of Planned Parenthood Federation of America (New York City). The article, entitled Pain During Early Abortion, is the result of a survey of 1,055 women to determine the level of pain experienced during an induced abortion. Of the women surveyed, 558 of them were nulliparous (had never borne a child).
The article states, "We were surprised to note that the majority of women reported moderate or more discomfort during the procedure; we had not expected as many women to report severe pain."
The women surveyed were asked to rate the amount of pain they experienced in their abortion on a scale from zero to five, with zero being "none" and five being "severe."
Survey Results (taken from Table II in the article):

Note that 58.2% of all women surveyed experienced "quite a bit" or "severe" pain during induced abortion! Among women who had never carried a child to term (i.e. nulliparous), this figure is even higher, at 61.4%.
Quite simply, anyone who claims that abortion is a "painless procedure" is lying.
